Let's start with, I want no "condolences."
None.
I lost a family member yesterday to Covid-19. She was not the first person close to me, but I pray she is the last.
Quite honestly, due to 1000+ miles, I knew her mainly because of Facebook. I wasn't very important in her life I expect, but she mattered. She mattered a LOT. She appreciated photos of my kids, my grandkids, and more recently my great-grandchildren. I knew her grandchildren, my blood, because she shared them w…ith me.
She was important to many - including her husband, her children, and her grandchildren. She mattered to her siblings, and her sisters-in-law, and her nephews and nieces.
I feel a lot of anger right now because she didn't have to get sick, she didn't have to die. She died because we have an incompetent administration that has resisted just about everything that would or could possibly help to contain this g.d. virus.
Maybe someday I will find it in my heart to forgive, but it isn't today. It is definitely not today.
