Limpopo Premier launch Multi-Million Human Settlements Project

The lack of proper shelter poses a serious health risk to the destitute households across the Province during this time of the global coronavirus pandemic.

COVID-19 has brought the world including our country to its resources full constraints at all levels. The Premier of the Limpopo Province, Mr Chupu Stanley Mathabatha and accompanied the MEC of CoGHSTA, Mr Basikopo Makamu will on Friday, 31 July 2020 launch 40 brand new low-cost housing units at Talana Community Residence (A multi-million Human Settlements Project), Greater Tzaneen Local Municipality in the Mopani District.

During this pandemic poor communities who are residing in informal settlements and can’t afford to build sustainable houses for themselves are subjected to the threat of coronavirus. This project will go a long way in ensuring that government restore the dignity of poor communities. In addition, the lack of infrastructure exposes residents of informal settlements to perpetual dangers of this dread disease.

In an effort to purge the speedy spread of the virus in the area, government prompted with speed by providing shelter to the needy and destitute families.
