Angel brought her baby Nijab for a polio vaccination at a UNICEF-supported health centre in Uganda.Despite logistical challenges caused by COVID-19, UNICEF teams supplied over 800 million doses of polio vaccines in 2020.Thanks to parents and health workers, the vaccine is protecting children against an infectious disease, which was once the leading cause of childhood paralysis worldwide.
